The latest news is that data from Counterpoint Research shows that in October this year, smartphone sales in the Chinese market increased by 11% compared to the same period last year. Huawei and Xiaomi have led the recovery of this market, with Huawei growing by 83% year-on-year and Xiaomi growing by 33%.

Counterpoint stated that Huawei contributed the majority of its growth with its new Mate 60 series phones. Analyst Archie Zhang said, "The most outstanding performance in October was Huawei. Driven by new product marketing and reports of 'Made in China' chips, Huawei achieved a turnaround and made significant progress with the Mate 60 series

The COVID-19 led to excess inventory and shrinking demand in the consumer electronics industry a year ago. TSMC and Samsung have stated in recent weeks that they expect inventory adjustments to come to an end and orders to resume growth. South Korea reported on November 14th that storage chip exports have resumed growth for the first time in 16 months.

Counterpoint stated that the problems faced by Chinese mobile phone manufacturers have now reversed, and Huawei is working hard to produce enough phones to meet unexpectedly high demand. In addition, Xiaomi has received over 1 million orders for the Xiaomi 14 series launched at the end of October, and the company's market value has increased by approximately $20 billion since its low point in June this year.

In addition, the success of Chinese mobile phone manufacturers may bring challenges to Apple, with nearly 20% of Apple's revenue coming from China in recent quarters.
